ACT NOW!

My name is AMANDA BOWERS and I am a REAL PERSON! I am a mom, wife, pharmacist, daughter, sister, and friend. I am an AMERICAN! I am not PAID TO WRITE THIS! I do it to honor my Lord, my family, and all the men and women in this nation who have shed their blood and sacrificed their lives for the innocent and helpless! It is now MY TIME to stand for freedom and LIFE! Will you join me?

Thus says the LORD: “ For three transgressions of the people of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment, Because they ripped open the women with child in Gilead, That they might enlarge their territory. Amos 1:13

Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, received over $350 million in taxpayer funding last year and ended the year with a $112 million surplus. Washington has already mandated that taxpayers fund billions of dollars in bailouts and stimulus packages.

Right now Planned Parenthood is fighting tooth and nail to "enlarge their territory" by ensuring that the current health care reform bill exclude ALL LANGUAGE that would prohibit federal funding of abortions. They want to "rip open the women with child" in order to line their pocketbooks!! http://stoptheabortionmandate.com/prep/get-the-facts/responding-to-healthcare-myths/

Please call, email, write your senators during this Christmas season. As of right now the amendment to prevent tax-payer funding of abortion has been removed. Please let your senators know that if they vote for the health care bill as written at this time that they are going on record as a pro-choice supporter. Please ask them not to vote yes as it is currently written. Here are links to help you with what to say.

Take these 10 steps to save lives:

1. PRAY! PRAY! PRAY!

2. Forward this email to your entire CONTACT LIST!

3. Email or Fax your Senators

4. CALL your representatives and senators. Also call democrats who are pro-life and encourage them not to go back on their convictions!! http://www.democratsforlife.org/

5.Go here:http://stoptheabortionmandate.com/take-action/contact-your-elected-officials/

6. Tell people to go to this link and listen to this web cast. Tell them to call.

7. Send it to your email list, twitter it, ...facebook.

8. Call EVERYDAY! They need to expect your call every day. (I haven't done this before, but I will start!)

9. Write letters to your newspaper

10.PRAY! PRAY! PRAY!

http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

In fact, the stop the abortion mandate site already has a letter written for you. It takes less than 2 minutes to make the call. Just be friendly, tell them your name, and that you ask that they vote no on the health care bill as it stands without an amendment to stop federal funding of abortion. They are counting on the fact that you are busy with your families during Christmas and not paying attention.

If this gets passed, please know that it is ALL ABOUT MONEY! They will target the underprivileged and poor and begin using abortion as a birth control method.

We must take a stand on this now!

This is our generations time to stand up to tyranny! Please, I urge you to look into your child's face and do this for their future. You can remind the politicians that every child aborted is a future taxpayer and US citizen.

Thank you for taking the time to do this. You can also write letters to your newspaper, Facebook this information, twitter it, email it to your friends! Please forward this information to everyone and let the congress know that America is PRO-LIFE! God is watching to see how our generation will stand against this evil. We must stand for the innocent. These women are victims, too!

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs 1 Timothy 6:10

Contest: The Best Bargain is a FREE ONE!!

Welcome to The Bargain Woman. I hope you find way more than you bargained for!

I'm sorry I've been so busy this week that I haven't had time to post. I recently assumed the responsibility of being the onsite prayer room coordinator for my church's prayer room. This is a brand new undertaking and I am responsible for writing all the content and policies and procedures for the prayer room and collection of prayer requests. It is so funny because it seems like I went from having very little extra curricular activity to having everything hit all at once. So much so I have contemplated halting this blog altogether. However, my husband has asked that I give it at least 30 days so I am going to honor him and do so.

The actual coupon searching and learning how to do the gaming is taking so much computer time right now that I don't have much time left over to write, but I know that once I get past the learning curve that won't be a problem.

This post is to announce the contest I promised. I have thought about a few different ideas and settled that the easiest thing to do would be gift cards. So here is what I am proposing:

1st Prize: Will receive a $25 gift card from Amazon.com

2nd Prize: Will receive a $15 gift card from Kroger

3rd Prize will receive an envelope stuffed full of valuble coupons

Entrance Rules:
Each contestant will receive one entrance for each of the following. After one week the person with the most entrances will win.

1. Write a post sharing your experience with grocery gaming, bargain shopping, etc.
2. Be sure to mention my new blog in your post and link back to this post.
3. Recomend The Bargain Woman to at least 5 other bloggers.
4. You will receive one entrance for each recommended blogger who also link up.
5. Subscribe to my feed or Follow my blog
6. Put my new button on your blog. (You will have to copy as a photo at this time and add my link as I haven't had time to get the html posted yet)
7. Don't forget to leave me a comment letting me know that you posted.

Thanks, good luck, and Happy Homemaking!

Contest starts today and will end in Friday October 2nd. I will announce the winners sometime that weekend and send out the prizes the following week. Good luck and thanks for haning in there with me.

Walgreens

Welcome to The Bargain Woman. I hope you find way more than you bargained for!

Okay, I'm posting like crazy today...trying to get a week's worth in one day. I'm not doing you much good by posting this weeks bargains at the end of the week, am I? Sorry. I have noticed, however, that some of the other ladies just post one or two items as they find them. That makes sense. I'll try to do that more.

So here's what I did at Walgreens this week. I will say that I got a little burned because I needed diapers and would usually NEVER buy them at Walgreens, but I thought if I did two transactions that I could use my register rewards and some coupons from the first transaction and come out better than driving all the way to Target or Toys R Us. (The Walgreens is only about 5 miles from my house). Well, low and behold, I didn't do my Walgreens homework and was sadly disappointed to find out that the RR don't work like cash. You can only use 1 RR per item (and the cashier rang up my $1 first instead of my $2 RR Ugh!!) I didn't have the heart to make her rering it because she already had some trouble with a void on my first transaction.

Soooo needless to say, I overpaid for my diapers, but here are some good deals that I did rack up while there.

Campbells Crm of Ckn Soup .89 cents ea. w/WG in-store coupon
combined with $1/2 coupon found here
Paid .39 cents ea. (Also found out you can't use RR on items valued less than face value...Argh again!)

Mayfield Nutrish Milk sale $3.49 combined with Sunday paper $1.00 off Mayfield Nutrish=$2.49/gal

Electrasol Finish Dish Detergent and Jet Dry gave $2 RR combined with coupon found here,
Paid $3.99 for Jet Dry minus .75cents/1 found here
Paid $3.99 for Electrasol Automatic DW Detergent minus $1/1found here
Got $1 RR for each item
Like Paying $2.24 for Jet Dry and $1.99 for Detergent

Aquafresh ISO Active TP $3.49
$1/1 coupons found here or here
$1.50 RR
Like paying $1.00

Aussie Hair Conditioner $2.99
$1/1 found in Sunday's circular
Got $2 RR
Like getting it FREE

It's Hip To Save says that some WG's are clearancing their Domino's Sugar at .80 cents/5 lb. bag so I have to run out later today and may stop by to see if I can use up my RR on some of it.

That's it so far this week. A little birdie, several bloggers, and some FB folks are telling me that Kmart is set to do another double coupon run next week. I'll let you know what I find out.

Happy Homemaking!

Tot School 9/11-9/18/2009

Tot School

Working on opposites with these great little matching cards I got at Ross. Surprisingly, Jacob could do several of them. I was impressed. I can't take the credit.

God has truly given me an amazing child!

Jacob loves little books with flip up cards. This one is teaching him all the states. I also found one that has geographical places in the world. (Mommy is learning lots with him :)

He loves this little dry erease alphabet book I found for a steal at Ross. I love to pick up little educational books/toys at places like Ross and TJ Maxx. Even if they are too advanced at the time, I know I can use them later and anything less than $5 is a great deal!

Helping mommy make her first ever blueberry pie from scratch..or rather helping her eat the ingredients. :)

Jacob LOVES, LOVES, LOVES music! His daddy bought him his first guitar last week.

Aren't they both just sooo cute??

He was into his musical instruments this past week a lot.

Loving my TOT and loving TOT School.
Thank you Lord for a little boy is so fun and loves to play and learn!!
